A man has been jailed after he was charged with a Jan. 18 shooting that damaged a house on Youngs Avenue in Joliet.
About 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, detectives arrested Giovanni Simpson, 18, of Joliet at his workplace in Channahon on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English said.
Simpson was taken to Will County jail after his arrest.
Detectives identified Simpson as a suspect in the shooting that caused damage to a house in the 300 block of Youngs Avenue, English said.
The shooting was reported about 6 a.m. Jan. 18, English said.
Officers found many spent shell casings in the street and a nearby house that had been struck by multiple rounds of gunfire, English said.
One person was inside the house that was struck by gunfire but no injuries were reported, he said.
