High school football: Week 8 results; recaps for every game

Oswego 38, Oswego East 14: Mark Melton ran for 203 yards and two touchdowns, Cameron Grays’ pick-six highlighted three Oswego interceptions and the Panthers regained supremacy in the Oswego crosstown rivalry and clinched at least a share of the SPC West title with a convincing 38-14 win over Oswego East.

Minooka 20, Yorkville 17 (OT): Gavin Dooley tossed a 10-yard scoring strike to Trevor Hudak, who made a one-handed catch while keeping his feet in bounds to pull out a thrilling 20-17 overtime victory over Yorkville in a Southwest Prairie West game to keep the Indians’ playoff hopes alive.

Rochelle 28, Plano 20: Rochelle used a sack and 60-yard touchdown run on back-to-back plays in the third quarter to turn away Plano’s momentum, and went on to beat the Reapers 28-20.

Marengo 43, Sandwich 21: Sandwich’s Seven Tornga ran for 190 yards and two touchdowns, but Marengo amassed 461 yards to win the Kishwaukee River/Interstate Eight Blue matchup 43-21.
