KIMBERLY, Wis. -- The Chicago Bandits professional softball team topped the Washington Glory 6-4 on Sunday to win the National Pro Fastpitch Championship Series.
The victory, the Bandits' 15th straight, completed an impressive comeback. At the midway point of the season, the Bandits were 12-12 and were fourth in the standings.
The team, however, won 20 of its final 24 regular-season games.
The championship is the Bandits' first. University of Nebraska alum Nicole Trimboli was named the series MVP after hitting two home runs in three games.
Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School and Kankakee Community College graduate Laura Harms plays shortstop and the outfield for the Bandits.
