Former Yorkville resident publishes final book in ‘Capitol Hearts’ trilogy

Former Yorkville resident Laura (Engelhardt) Powell released her third novel, “Freeing Grace,” this month. This is the final book in the three-part series titled “Capitol Hearts.” All three works have been set in Springfield, Illinois.

The novels are contemporary Christian fiction, and one beta-reader for “Freeing Grace” said, “I read the whole book in one day. I couldn’t put it down … there were so many twists and turns.”

Powell published her first book, “Facing Love,” on Aug. 6, 2020. Her second book, “Finding Home,” was released Dec. 5. “Freeing Grace” went on sale on Amazon in electronic and paperback forms Aug. 5, making three novels released in one year.

The former Yorkville High School graduate (class of 1995) now lives in Springfield with her husband of 20 years, Dave, teenage son Joshua, and always-hungry lab mix Bentley. Find her on Facebook at Author Laura Powell or at her website, authorlaurapowell.com.
