Elburn’s Heritage Prairie Farm to host 7th annual Organic Transplant Sale

Heritage Prairie Farm will present its seventh annual Organic Transplant Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 8 and 15 in the greenhouse at the farm, 2N308 Brundige Road, Elburn.

The sale will feature a variety of vegetable and herb transplants, according to a news release. A list of available plants is posted on the website at heritageprairiefarm.com.

All of the transplants are U.S. Department of Agriculture certified organic and include such items as tomatoes, herbs, squash, peppers and kale.

With an influx of home gardeners in the past year, seed shortages this spring have many gardeners searching for inventory. Because Heritage Prairie Farm is a USDA certified organic farm, patrons of the plant sale can be assured that the transplants have been grown with the same organic practices as all of the produce sold, the release stated.
