1. Just across the Lake-McHenry county line, Wauconda Fest will offer food, live entertainment, carnival rides and games, a bags tournament and car show this weekend.
The festival on Friday, June 25, features The Boy Band Night, with ’90s favorites, and Infinity, a Journey tribute band; Saturday brings Blooze Brothers, a Blues Brothers tribute band, and country band Rockstar Rodeo; and Sunday is capped by The Neverly Brothers, a rock ‘n’ roll band.
The festival grounds, located at 600 N. Main St., will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.

2. Woodstock Water Works will host Friday After Dark, where adults 21 and older can bring their rafts and friends for some pool time and music.
The event will run from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at Woodstock Water Works, 1313 Kishwaukee Valley Road in Woodstock.
Napoli’s Concession Stand will be open, and a cash bar will be available. Coolers are not allowed. Music in Motion will serve as DJ.
The entry fee will be $10 at the door, and IDs are required. Information can be found at woodstockrecreationdepartment.com.
3. Vets 4 Veterans’ Families on Saturday invites veterans and their families to share their stories, find help for post-traumatic stress disorder, collect resources to help one another, and have some fun.
The free event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 Pathway Court, Crystal Lake, according to a news release from American Legion Post 171, which is hosting the organization along with the church and other partner organizations.
Equine therapy programs will be presented by BraveHearts and Veterans R&R; classic cars as well as motorcycles from Woodstock Harley Davidson will be showcased; and children will have their own tent with games and activities, according to the release. Food trucks also will be on hand.

4. Start your Sunday morning with bottomless mimosas, an unlimited brunch buffet and music from the StanDard Jazz Project.
The jazz brunch will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Flores Banquets and Steel Heart Events, 240 N. Throop St. in Woodstock.

5. A charity motorcycle ride Sunday from the Woodstock Harley-Davidson dealership to Niko’s Red Mill Tavern will raise money for a Lincolnshire toddler diagnosed with an extremely rare, incurable disease.
After 4-year-old Nash Stineman was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy with respiratory distress, or SMARD, his parents founded the nonprofit smashSMARD, which is working to find a cure.
The charity ride will cost $35 per bike plus $5 a passenger. A rain date is set for July 17.
Participants also will be entered for a chance to win a 1955 Panhead Harley-Davidson. Additional raffle tickets can be bought at Woodstock Harley-Davidson, at one for $25 or five for $100. The bike giveaway will take place Sept. 26 at a second Dash 4 Nash event.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. Sunday, and the ride follows at 11 a.m., kicking off from the Woodstock Harley-Davidson, 2235 S. Eastwood Drive, and ending at Niko’s Red Mill Tavern, 1040 Lake Ave., where food and music will be offered.
