Steel Beam Theatre in St. Charles to stage ‘Me and Jezebel’

Bette Davis at heart of play

The Steel Beam Theatre’s production of “The Fantasticks” opens Sept. 9 with performances on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Steel Beam Theatre in St. Charles presents “Me and Jezebel,” about a true incident involving Hollywood’s Bette Davis, through March 20.

On May 28, 1985, star-struck Elizabeth Fuller’s dream came true when the legendary Bette Davis came to dinner at her Connecticut home. Four weeks later, as the hotel strike in New York dragged on, she was still there. This is an intimate, funny, and true story of a Hollywood legend coming face-to-face with her most ardent fan.

Starring SBT favorites Julie Bayer and Heidi Swarthout, the show runs at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. It is directed by Marge Uhlarik-Boller.
