Family adventures await at Geneva Park District’s Autumn Fair

The Geneva Park District Foundation will host its annual Autumn Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road, Geneva.

Guests can enjoy pony rides, family activities, children’s games, crafts, a birds of prey demonstration and musical entertainment, a news release stated.

Patrons also can mingle with animals in a petting zoo, purchase pumpkins and test their luck at winning prizes in the basket raffle. Tickets for the raffle are available to purchase at Sunset Community Center, Peck Farm Park Interpretive Center and the Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center. Winners will be announced at the Autumn Fair, the release stated.

“We take tremendous pride in our stewardship and recreational opportunities,” Geneva Park District Executive Director and secretary of the Geneva Park District Foundation Sheavoun Lambillotte said. “The Autumn Fair is a fun opportunity for folks to enjoy Peck Farm Park ahead of the beautiful fall season, and it helps support the Park District Foundation’s environmental and community projects.”

Fairgoers can explore the observation silo, connect with nature at the award-winning Hawks Hollow Nature Playground, and get an up-close look at hundreds of butterflies in the Butterfly House, which will close for the season after the event.

Admission to the Autumn Fair is free, but there are minimal fees for some activities and food and beverages. All proceeds benefit special projects of the Geneva Park District Foundation, the release stated.

“What’s so special about the Autumn Fair is that it’s more than just a fundraiser,” Geneva Park District Foundation member Jay Womack said. “For more than 20 years, it’s been vital in connecting our community, and providing a sense of outdoor adventure people don’t get every day.”
