The Volo Auto Museum will host its first-ever “Cars and Costumes” event on Oct. 31 for Halloween in Volo.
All children ages 12 and younger with a paying adult will be able to get in free to the museum for the holiday as long as they are wearing a costume.
“We’re also really proud of all of the amazing improvements we’ve made to the museum over the last year and a half,” said Brian Grams, director of the museum. “So, we thought, ‘Why not sweeten the deal and offer some extra encouragement for families to celebrate the holiday with us?’”

Normally, admission for children between ages 5 and 12 costs $12.95, and is free for kids age 4 and younger. On Halloween, they will all get in for free if they wear a costume and adults pay the regular price of $19.95.
The museum has several car exhibits children will like, Grams said in a news release.
“We’ve got a huge Disney Gallery; the great Carousel and Music Hall; rare, finned watercraft of the 1950s; a snowmobile exhibit; vintage tractors, scooters [and] historic pedal cars; vintage kiddie rides; a Crime and Punishment hall; [and] a history of transportation section that includes everything from a covered wagon to a train,” he said.
The museum is not just about cars, however. It also has a new indoor dinosaur exhibit called Jurassic Gardens. A visit to the exhibit will cost $12 on Halloween for children in costume.
Combo tickets, which are good for two consecutive days, cost $31.95 for adults, or $29.95 for those 65 and better.
The museum at 27582 Volo Village Road is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Visit www.volocars.com.
