Yorktoberfest to return to downtown Yorkville

The Kiwanis Club of Yorkville will host its fourth annual Yorktoberfest from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Riverfront Park in downtown Yorkville.

The festival will feature food from Wurst Kitchen, craft beer and live music by Bad Medicine, Motley II, Tim Gleason, Fritz & The Pretzel Twists, and Frank N Fran German Music. All are invited to join the festivities at the traditional German celebration of Oktoberfest with a Yorkville twist.

The stein-holding contest and music performances are free. This year’s musical lineup includes German polka music by Frank N Fran from noon to 1 p.m., Fritz & The Pretzel Twists from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Tim Gleason from 4 to 5 p.m., Motley II from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and Bad Medicine from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Yorktoberfest is presented by the Kiwanis Club of Yorkville, a chapter of the Kiwanis International Organization. The club aims to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Kiwanis Club of Yorkville Illinois Foundation, a nonprofit organization. Proceeds will be used to fund scholarships for local students who have shown a commitment to serving others in the community.
