Good Morning Bedlam will kick off the festivities at 5 p.m. Energetic, surprising, playful and extremely musical are just some words that come to mind when describing this Midwest trio, a news release stated. Their music is steeped within folk, but on any given night, during any given tune, a variety of genres and influences can be heard. The frontman of GMB states, “We want to surprise our audience from song to song. Rather than creating our music to fit a genre, we allow it to be an outpouring of our own stories and unique sound.”

At 6:15 p.m., Dawson Hollow brings its indie-folk to the stage. Dawson Hollow’s indie-folk often gets confused with the term indie-rock. This is certainly understandable given the intensity with which they deliver their music, concert organizers said. The band works to make sure their live show is an experience. They currently have been releasing a single every 28 days, and are prepping a new album.

The Accidentals will perform at 7:30 p.m. Make no mistake, this American band birthed in Traverse City, Michigan, will be bursting with genre-bending jams. Founded in 2012 by Sav Buist and Katie Larson, the band defies the rules by mixing such styles as pop, bluegrass, indie-folk, classical and rock. Their recorded arsenal consists of three albums, one EP and two live records.

Capping off the evening will be a 9 p.m. set from The Arcadian Wild. Rooted in tradition but continually moving forward, this four-piece band creates a unique beauty within their music. Guitar, mandolin, fiddle and bass comprise a quartet of acoustic instruments that have been used for years but never with the creative sense that makes The Arcadian Wild so special. Uplifting and glorious vocals are accompanied with sounds based on folk and bluegrass. The band is on a journey; its music invites the audience to climb aboard and take the ride.

General admission terrace seating is $35, with lawn tickets at $20.

The Venue is owned and operated by the nonprofit Fox Valley Music Foundation. Visit themusicvenue.org or foxvalleymusicfoundation.com.

COVID-19 update

In an effort to keep patrons, musicians and staff healthy, The Venue will follow state mandates and protocols set forth by the Centers for Disease Control, Kane County Health Department and city of Aurora, according to the release. Whether fully vaccinated, or unvaccinated, attending a crowded outdoor event, [such as] a live music performance, poses risk, the release stated. Patrons entering The Venue do so at their own risk.

In the event of bad weather, shows may be moved indoors at the discretion of the artists. If this happens, ticket buyers will be notified through Eventbrite and The Venue’s Facebook page. With COVID rates rising in Illinois, if it is necessary to move indoors, The Venue will strictly enforce its mask policy.

For outside shows, masks are required for entry unless proof of vaccination can be provided. Outside, masks may be removed, although wearing of masks is encouraged along with social distancing. Indoors, masks are required at all times. Upon proof of vaccination on entry, guests will receive a sticker showing their vaccination status, and may remove their masks when seated.

“All guests are encouraged to cooperate for the greater good so that we can continue to share live music safely,” the release stated.
