DIXON – The Sauk Valley Community College Foundation's Dixon Aviation Scholarship is available to students pursuing aviation training through SVCC and the Dixon Municipal Airport.
The scholarship was established in 2019 with help from the Dixon Airport Board and local community members, with the intention to help provide funds for students pursuing training in aviation and working towards an FAA Pilot Certificate.
Students currently enrolled in a SVCC aviation course and taking flight training at the Dixon Municipal Airport, or who have completed the course and are taking the flight training are encouraged to apply.
To date, $1,500 has been awarded through this scholarship and applications are being accepted year round at svcc.edu/scholarships.
“We are proud to offer the opportunity to provide financial assistance to students and scholars,” said Lori Cortez, dean of institutional advancement at SVCC.
