Dwight Fire responds to blaze at Ron De Voo Bar

Area aid system brought other departments to scene

DWIGHT – Dwight Fire Protection District, along with numerous other local agencies, responded to a fire at 6:05 p.m. Sunday at the Ron De Voo Bar located at 112 S. Franklin St. in Dwight, according to a fire station Facebook post.

According to the post Dwight Fire, Dwight EMS, and Dwight Police responded. Dwight Fire command eventually escalated the fire response to a third alarm and MABAS 15 and 23 mutual aid units responded, including Odell FD, Mazon FD, Braceville FD, Morris FD, Limestone FD, Herscher FD, Salina FD, Saunemin FD, Reddick FD, Fairbury FD, Coal City FD, Pontiac FD, Seneca FD, Essex FD, Braidwood FD, Minooka FD, Channahon FD, Troy FD, Wilmington FD, Elwood FD, South Wilmington FD, Streator FD, Forrest FD, Grand Ridge FD, Allen Township FD, Duffy AMB, SELCAS AMB and Eastern Marshall County Ambulance and AMT ambulance.

Wilmington EMA, MABAS
15 Rehab, and Grundy County Emergency Management also assisted at the scene. Dispatch Offices handling the fire included V-Com and WesCom. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.

The fire was extinguished and is no danger to the public; fire units remained on the scene for some time to evaluate the scene and surrounding buildings to ensure there was no rekindling of fire. No injuries were reported with the fire.

MABAS 15 investigators remained on the scene assisting the Dwight Fire Department and Dwight Police Department with the investigation of the incident.

Dwight Mayor Jared Anderson, police chief, and fire chiefs remained on the scene with the MABAS 15 incident management team to ensure the safe completion of the incident and safety of the public.
