McHenry County voters go to the polls on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, to cast their ballots in the 2025 Consolidated Election.

Republican and local lawyer Riley Oncken announced this week he will seek the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office in 2024.

DeKalb County State’s Attorney Rick Amato announced Thursday he won’t seek a third term in 2024, asserting instead his desire to leave the office open and encourage more to embrace leadership roles.

The Kane County Democratic Women will host their annual Blue Wave Brews Fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 21, 2023, at Brother Chimp Brewing, 1059 W. Orchard Road, North Aurora.

Incumbent Sandra Wegman, who said she will seek a seventh term as Kane County Recorder of Deeds, is facing a primary challenge from Aurora resident Adam Pauley for the GOP nomination in the March 19, 2024 primary.

The Kane County GOP leadership still does not have solid commitments from candidates to challenge Democratic incumbents for County Board Chair, Circuit Clerk, State’s Attorney or Auditor.

Kane County Clerk John Cunningham recently hosted staff from Minneapolis Election and Voter Services Office to have a tour and demonstration of vote-by-mail automation equipment.

So far, only one Republican is seeking election to a county-wide office in Kane County in the Nov. 5, 2024 general election, and that’s incumbent Coroner Rob Russell for a fourth term.

Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser plans to announce her intention to seek a second term at a re-election announcement and fundraising event on June 21, according to a social media post.
