The Seneca softball team smacked four home runs in an 11-1 Tri-County Conference victory in five innings over Marquette at Seneca on Tuesday afternoon. The Fighting Irish are now 24-0 overall and 11-0 in league play on the season.

The Newark softball team — with a number of key plays from freshman Rylie Carlson and the pitching of senior Dottie Wood — defeated Serena 1-0 Tuesday in a battle of unbeaten Little Ten Conference squads.

The Coal City girls soccer team trailed early, but a pair of goals from senior Kylee Kennell helped the Coalers to a 3-1 victory over host Streator on Thursday at the James Street Recreation Area.

Seneca junior pitcher Tessa Krull pitched a complete-game, one-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts in a 6-0 victory over Serena on Saturday. The Fighting Irish are now 10-0.

The Seneca baseball team, which has recently dropped a number of close games, exploded with 14 hits and took advantage of eight Beecher errors in a 15-6 victory on Friday in Seneca.
