New drive-thru Dunkin’ coming to Manhattan

The new franchise will take place of vacant restaurant on North Street

The Manhattan Village Board approved a new drive-thru Dunkin’ at its meeting last Tuesday.

The new franchise will occupy the vacant restaurant located at 535 W. North Street, according to a village news release. The existing building will be modified to include a Dunkin’ sign on the front and additional signage on the side and front of the location.

“Manhattan was just named to the top ten fastest growing cities list in Illinois and the more we promote our village, the more economic development and sales tax revenues we will receive,” said Mayor Mike Adrieansen in a statement. “This will help us grow the community and keep taxes lower for our residents.”

The Village Board approved a special use permit and other variances for the franchise. The Dunkin’ will have a drive-thru service and new landscaping will be added to beautify the new location.

The Dunkin’ is expected to open for business by the end of the year.
