A patient receives their second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at the Will County Health Department in Joliet, Ill. The Will County Health Department is accelerating vaccination efforts throughout the region.

A Joliet resident was among the latest three winners of a $100,000 prize in the state’s COVID-19 vaccine lottery.

Gov. JB Pritzker’s office announced that three residents were selected in Monday’s lottery drawing. Monday’s drawings also included a resident of Berwyn and a resident of Chicago.

Each winner will receive a $100,000 cash prize.

The vaccine lottery was announced by Pritzker’s office as a way to encourage Illinoisans who have yet to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. As of Monday, just under 50% of the state’s total population of about 12.7 million residents was fully vaccinated for COVID-19, according to public health data.

The Illinois Department of Public Health said it would notify the winners on Monday by phone or email. Residents from those cities should keep their phones on and check their email regularly to find out if they won.

The winners will have seven days to securely complete, sign and send the authorization form to the IDPH to accept their prizes.

The Illinois Lottery will guide winners through the claims process.

Winners will be announced eight days after each draw unless they choose to remain anonymous.

Last Monday, winners were chosen from Chicago, Quincy and Springfield.
