The village of Plainfield announced that part of 127th Street will be closed for several weeks for construction in the area.

The closure will be needed for a widening of 127th Street to allow for left turn lanes at entrances in the new residential development on the north side of 127th Street east of Wheatland Community Park, according to a village announcement.

Part of 127th Street in that area is expected to be closed starting on April 26 and last until about Aug. 20.

A new box-culvert drainage structure also will be built at the East Norman Drain. In order to complete the work, a full closure of 127th Street is required and a detour route will be posted.

Access to all driveways and entrances along 127th Street will remain open during the construction, according to the village’s announcement.
