Joliet Public Schools District 86 is looking for a candidate to fill a vacancy on its Board of Inspectors which is the governing body of the district of around 10,000 students.
The candidate would replace Tonya Roberts who resigned from the board last week, according to a district news release.
Roberts had been serving as the president of the board. Erick Deshaun Dorris will replace her as president.
Qualified applicants must be 18 years of age of older, a citizen of the U.S., a resident of District 86 living on the east side of Joliet (east of the Des Plaines River) for at least one year, and a registered voter.
Letters of intent and resumes may be sent to Stephanie H. T. Phelan, the secretary of the Board of Inspectors at Joliet Public Schools, 420 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet, IL 60435.
The deadline for applying is Sept. 7 at 4:30 p.m. The term will end in 2023.
