A man was charged with aggravated assault after he pointed a handgun at a woman in Bolingbrook following an argument over the location of his shoes, police said.

About 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, a woman contacted police dispatch and said a man was pointing at a gun at her, according to a statement from the Bolingbrook Police Department.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Blair Lane and met with the woman outside of her residence, police said.

The woman said she was involved in an argument with Emanuel Antonino, 29, of Joliet over the location of his shoes, police said.

The woman then retrieved her legally owned firearm for her safety when Antonino threatened physical harm, police said.

While the woman was gathering items to leave the residence, she put the handgun down and Antonino picked it up, police said.

The woman told officers that Antonino pointed the handgun at her and said he would shoot her, police said. The woman then ran out of the residence when officers arrived.

Antonino denied the incident occurred, police said.

“There were no reported injuries during this incident,” police said.

Antonino was then taken to the Will County jail.

On Monday, prosecutors filed charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by felon, according to court records.

Antonino was in jail on a $100,000 bond.
