Arrest made in shooting near 6 Corners: cops

Detectives recovered firearm that was modified to fully automatic weapon, police said.

A Shorewood man was identified as a suspect involved in a shooting near Six Corners in Joliet, police said.

David Allen, 20, was arrested and jailed in connection with the shooting that left two women with superficial wounds from broken vehicle glass on Tuesday, according to Joliet police.

About 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the 800 block of North Raynor Avenue for a report of two women who had been shot at by an unknown suspect in passing vehicle while the victims sat in a parked vehicle, police said.

Detectives identified Allen as a suspect in the incident, police said.

“Both Allen and the vehicle were located at a nearby residence and Allen was taken into custody without incident,” police said.

At that residence, detectives recovered the handgun used in the shooting and it appeared the gun was “modified to a fully automatic weapon,” police said.
