Man pointed pellet gun at woman on Joliet’s West Side: cops

Douglas Blowers arrested on aggravated assault, battery charges

A man was arrested after he pointed a pellet gun at a woman multiple times on Joliet’s West Side and then pushed her to the ground, police said.

About 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, officers went to a residence in the 800 block of Krings Lane for a report of a disturbance, Joliet police said in a news release.

Officers learned that Douglas Blowers, 39, who lives on Krings Lane, had approached a woman in a driveway with what appeared to be a rifle and pointed it at her multiple times, police said.

Blowers then pushed the woman to the ground, police said.

She then called 911.

“Further investigation determined that Blowers held no relationship to the victim,” police said.

Officers took Blowers into custody.

They also determined Blowers’ rifle was actually a pellet gun, police said.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, police said.

Blowers was arrested on probable cause of aggravated assault and battery. He was released on his own recognizance.

He was scheduled for an appearance at the Will County Courthouse on Aug. 12 regarding the incident.
