Dump truck tips over in Frankfort, spills dirt on roadway

Truck tipped over after making a turn on to Laraway Road, police said

A red dump truck traveling on Wolf Road in Frankfort tipped over and spilled a pile of dirt on the roadway.

Frankfort police officers and paramedics with Frankfort Fire Protection District responded to the incident Thursday morning at the intersection of Wolf and Laraway roads.

No one was injured, Frankfort Deputy Police Chief Kevin Keegan said.

Keegan said the drump truck was traveling in the south on Wolf Road and turned right onto Laraway Road.

“When it made the turn, the truck tipped over, tipping to a southward direction,” Keegan said.

The truck had a load of dirt that was supposed to go to a location in New Lenox, he said.

The driver of the dump truck was the only occupant of the vehicle and he was not cited, Keegan said.

Frankfort Deputy Fire Chief Sean Fierce said the driver was not injured and refused medical treatment.
