Lincoln-Way Central’s girls basketball team put on a clinic Thursday in Bradley, defeating Bradley-Bourbonnais, 56-27.
Gracen Gehrke led the Knights (13-5, 2-0) with 17 points in the rout, Azyah Newson Cole added 12 points to go with six rebounds and Keira Hunt had 11 points.
Gardner-South Wilmington 45, Grace Christian 27: At Gardner, the Panthers earned their third win of the season by a comfortable margin.
Hannah Balcom led the way with 16 points for G-SW (3-19, 3-6) and Addi Fair scored 14 points.
Reed-Custer 40, Clifton Central 37: At Clifton, the Comets battled to a road win on the strength of 12 points and six rebounds from Brooklyn Williams.
Mya Beard added seven points and nine boards in the victory.
Andrew 49, Lincoln-Way Central 48: At New Lenox, the Knights suffered a heartbreaker at home, losing on a buzzer-beater from Andrew’s Zain Jubeh.
Jack Vegter led L-WC with 24 points, and Frank DeCarlo scored 15.
Stagg 50, Lincoln-Way West 49: At Palos Hills, West’s game went similarly to Central’s as the Warriors fell to a buzzer-beater and lost by one.
Joliet Central 2,283, West Aurora 1,933: At Strike & Spare, Mia Cerrillo had the high game and high series for Joliet Central in a victory over West Aurora.
Cerrillo turned in a 494 series and a 184 in Game 3, Maddalynn Butler added a 478 series, and Lexi Cerrillo came in with a 470 series for Central.
