Ian Webber scored with 45 seconds left in the second half, lifting Lincoln-Way West’s boys soccer team to a 2-1 win over visiting Andrew on Monday night.
The win sealed the Southwest Suburban Conference championship for the Warriors, who trailed, 1-0 at halftime.
Morris 3, LaSalle-Peru 1: At LaSalle-Peru, Damian Beccera scored two goals for the fifth-seeded Redskins in their quarterfinal win over the No. 4 seed in the Interstate-8 Conference tournament.
Tony Castellanos also scored for Morris. Tommy Dinelli and Logan Henne had assists.
Minooka 4, Joliet Central 2: At Minooka, the Indians got goals from Ben Joder, Manny Campuzano, Diego Escobedo and Zac Monnett in the Southwest Prairie Conference match.
Michael Ruettiger had an assist for Minooka (7-5, 6-5). Keeper Cade Ooms made four saves.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Benet 2, Joliet Catholic 0: At Joliet Catholic, the Angels dropped a 25-8, 25-19 decision in East Suburban Catholic Conference action.
Joliet Catholic (7-6, 2-4) was led by Alexis Mines (four kills), Emily Surin (three kills, two blocks), Kristen Leuszler (three kills, two blocks), Ryan Hinshaw (eight assists) and Natalie Kent (six digs).
Coal City 2, Peotone 0: At Peotone, Hayleigh Roach had six kills, Lauren Ferrari added 11 assists and five dig, and the Coalers captured a 25-18, 25-20 win.
Coal City also received contributions from Addyson Mellen (six assists), Grace Norris (12 service points, 18 digs), Mia Rodriguez (four kills, seven digs, two blocks), Colleen Feeney (three kills, four blocks), Rylee Endrst (nine digs), Meghan Onsen (six digs) and Jayda Mills (six service points).
BOYS BASKETBALL
IBCA All-State Teams announced: The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association released its All-State basketball teams on Monday.
The Class 4A All-State team included Bolingbrook’s Kyonte Thomas. Plainfield North’s Carlos Conley, Plainfield South’s Cooper Schmid, Lockport’s Matas Deksnys and Lincoln-Way Central’s Nick Tingley all earned Special Mention notice.
In Class 1A, Dwight’s Brandon Ceylor earned All-State recognition, while Connor Steichen of Gardner-South Wilmington was a Special Mention choice.
BASEBALL
Legendary coach Reed passes: Legendary Joliet baseball coach Don Reed, a member of the Joliet Area Sports Hall of Fame and father of 17-year major league catcher Jeff Reed, died earlier this month. He was 86.
Reed died in Florida, where he was residing. He helped put Joliet summer baseball on the national map with the success his teams enjoyed in the Colt League World Series and Connie Mack World Series. Later, he managed for 13 years in the prestigious wood-bat summer collegiate Cape Cod League, winning a then-league record 334 games and claiming several league championships. He was inducted into the Cape Cod League Hall of Fame in 2001.

Joliet Junior College sweeps Harper College: At Joliet Junior College, the Wolves won, 9-2 and 5-3, to improve to 12-20.
