Heritage Corridor Destinations held an open house on Jan. 8 for its new office.

Heritage Corridor is a destination of six Illinois counties (Will, Grundy, Livingston, La Salle, Bureau and Putnam) southwest of Chicago.

The destination includes the first 100 miles of Route 66, I&M Canal towns and Starved Rock Country, according to the release.

Attendees at the Wednesday open house included business partners, community leaders and stakeholders.

Those present were treated to “refreshments, guided tours of the new facility and a firsthand look at the organization’s ongoing initiatives,” as well as “insights into Heritage Corridor Destinations’ future plans, including innovative strategies to enhance local tourism experiences and further bolster the regional economy,” according to the release.
