High school football: Week 5 results; recaps for every game

Cary-Grove 42, Crystal Lake Central 14: The Trojans rolled up 412 yards of total offense and beat Crystal Lake Central to advance to next week’s Fox Valley Conference championship game.

Huntley 48, Hampshire 18: Alex Janke set the tone early by returning the opening kickoff for a 78-yard touchdown. The Red Raiders clinched a spot in the FVC title game with the win.

Marengo 40, Marian Central 19: The Indians took control in the second half Friday against Marian Central and emerged with a 40-19 victory in a rare conconference meeting for the two programs.

McHenry 48, Crystal Lake South 37: The Warriors got huge performances from a variety of players. Junior running back Brody Hallin rushed 25 times for 249 yards and two touchdowns, while senior wideout Matt Gallimore caught four passes for 134 yards and three TDs.

Richmond-Burton 46, Johnsburg 0: The Rocket defense didn’t allow a point for the third time in five games this season and offensive contributions from several players led to a Kiskwaukee River Conference win.

Woodstock 50: Harvard 0: Liam Mickle threw five touchdown passes, including a pair to tight end Nate Archambeau, as the the Blue Streaks cruised in KRC action.

Burlington Central 13, Dundee-Crown 6: The Rockets won their first game of the season in FVC action Friday.
