Polo High School November Student of the Month: Kadence Scheaffer

Kadence Sheaffer, 17, of Polo, is Polo High School’s November Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Steve and Jennifer Sheaffer, and has a brother, Kamden Sheaffer.

Favorite class: Biology 2, I find it very interesting.

Least-favorite class: AP calculus, because it is really hard.

Favorite teacher: Senora Alicia Garrett, she is very caring, she lets us talk about anything we need, and gives us a break when she sees we are having a bad day.

School activities in which you participate: Volleyball, basketball, and track.

Civic, faith, or other volunteer activities in which you participate: Youth Group.

What will you do after high school? I plan to go to Illinois State, major in biology and minor in psychology.

What is something you learned in high school that you think you’ll never use? Anything to do with calculus.

If you could change one thing about your school, what would it be? The lockers. They are too small.

If you could create any new class at your school, what would it be? Another psychology class.

What does it take to be a successful high school student? Don’t procrastinate and cause too much stress.

Do you have a job? I worked at Lundstrom Florist in Sterling over the summer, and I will work there during busy weekends.

How would you describe your group of friends? Competitive, fun, and crazy.

Who is your best friend? Alex Dusing.

What do you do in your free time? Watch “Grey’s Anatomy.”

What kind of music are you listening to? Olivia Rodrigo.

If you could go anywhere in the world for free, where would it be? Greece.

What is your favorite childhood memory? Snowmobiling with my friends and family.

What is the best way to cheer you up? Getting ice cream with my friends.

What is your life’s philosophy? Don’t stress too much.

Do you have any pets? No.

What would you do if you received $1 billion all of a sudden? Travel the world and donate the rest.
