Jayce Standard, 27, of Rock Falls, killed in crash on Sterling’s west end

STERLING – A 27-year-old Rock Falls man died of injuries suffered in a traffic crash that happened around 9:10 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of East Lincolnway and Emerson Road in Sterling’s west end, Whiteside County Sheriff John Booker said.

Christopher D. Link, 19, of Lyndon, was eastbound when his car crossed the centerline and struck a westbound car driven by Jayce Wyatt Standard.

Both were taken to CGH Medical Center, where Standard, formerly known as Jennifer Standard, died.

No information on Link’s injuries was provided.

Link was cited for improper lane usage; the investigation continues, the release said.
