Erie man accused of molesting a child

ERIE – An Erie man was being held on $150,000 bond Sunday, accused of molesting a child younger than 13.

Devontae Petrie, 24, is preliminarily charged with two counts of predatory sexual assault of a child, which carries at least 6 to 30 years, four counts of criminal sexual assault, which carries 4 to 15 years, four counts of criminal sexual assault, which caries 3 to 7 years, and two counts of criminal sexual abuse, which carries 1 to 3 years.

He was arrested Friday after a 2-week investigation that began when Erie Police received a tip from the school district, Chief Rollie Elder said Sunday.

Final charges will up to the state’s attorney.
