Former Sterling man shot, killed in Phoenix

PHOENIX – A Sterling native was shot and killed late last month in Phoenix.

Ryan C. Schwab, 42, was shot around 8:40 p.m. Jan. 27 near 23rd and Dunlap avenues and died at the scene, according to information supplied Wednesday by Sgt. Andy Williams, a Phoenix police spokesman.

No arrest has been made, Williams said. No further information was provided.

Schwab, a 1997 Sterling High grad, moved to Phoenix in 1998.

Among others, he is survived by his mother, Sherry Schwab of Oakbrook Terrace, and his brother, Brett Schwab of Downers Grove.
