Carroll County reports 3 COVID-19 deaths, area cases on the rise

Carroll County reported three coronavirus deaths of people in their 60s, 70s and 90s across the week.

There were also 48 new COVID-19 cases in Carroll County compared to 54 the week prior.

Whiteside County had 187 cases during the week compared to 136 the week before that.

Whiteside County has administered 57,563 total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 26,365 people (47.4%) fully vaccinated. Lee County has had 39,832 doses, with 18,240 people (53.3%) fully vaccinated. Carroll County has administered 13,061 vaccine doses, with 6,100 people (42.62%) fully vaccinated. Ogle County has had 57,208 doses, with 25,784 people (50.63%) fully vaccinated.

The North (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties) region’s positivity rate decreased to 7.5%.

Currently, 15% of ICU beds are available.

Lee County’s rate increased to 2.9%, and Whiteside County’s went down to 4.4%.

Hospitalizations have increased 10 out of the past 10 days in this region. The region is up to 164 total COVID-19 hospitalizations.
