Whiteside and Lee counties reported 232 coronavirus cases across the previous week.
Whiteside County had 163 cases, more than double the 73 cases from the previous week. The county also reported 44 cases from Saturday to Monday.
Lee County had 69 cases and 68 cases the prior week.
Carroll County reported 13 cases from Wednesday to Monday.
Ogle County had 34 cases on Wednesday, the most recent data available, and 133 new cases the previous week, according to KSB Hospital’s COVID-19 hub that includes Ogle County statistics.
Whiteside County has administered 49,797 total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 25,444 people (45.74%) fully vaccinated. Lee County has had 33,942 doses, with 17,354 people (50.71%) fully vaccinated. Carroll County has administered 10,926 vaccine doses, with 5,813 people (40.62%) fully vaccinated. Ogle County has had 48,107 doses, with 24,157 people (47.44%) fully vaccinated.
The North (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties) region’s positivity rate decreased to 5%.
Currently, 16% of ICU beds are available.
Within this region, Lee County’s rate decreased to 2.4%, and Whiteside County’s went down to 5%.
Hospitalizations decreased or remained stable six out of the past 10 days in this region. The region is up to 105 total COVID-19 hospitalizations.
