Sauk Valley reports 15 COVID-19 cases Monday

The Sauk Valley reported 15 new coronavirus cases Monday.

Whiteside County had 12 new cases, with three younger than 20, three in their 20s, three in their 30s, and one each in their 40s, 50s and 60s. There were also 100 new recoveries, for a total of 7,215 cases, 170 deaths and 6,604 recoveries.

Carroll County had three new cases, and now totals 1,674 cases and 37 deaths.

Whiteside County has administered 36,524 total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 16,801 people (30.20%) fully vaccinated. Lee County has had 22,917 doses, with 11,039 people (32.26%) fully vaccinated. Carroll County has administered 8,099 vaccine doses, with 3,935 people (27.49%) fully vaccinated. Ogle County has had 34,490 doses, with 16,068 people (31.55%) fully vaccinated.

The North region (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago counties) has maintained a positivity rate below 8% for 115 days. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 4.8%.

Currently, 17% of ICU beds are available. Monday is the 28th straight day this region is under 20% ICU capacity.

Lee County’s rate decreased to 1.1%, and Whiteside County’s decreased to 2.3%.

Hospitalizations decreased or remained stable eight out of the past 10 days in this region.

Illinois announced 1,424 cases and 12 deaths Monday. The state has had 1,356,391 cases and 22,235 deaths.
