Whiteside County reported 17 new coronavirus cases Tuesday with three younger than 20, two in their 20s, four in their 30s, three in their 50s, two in their 80s or older, and three in their 40s, 60s and 70s.
There were also 40 new recoveries totaling 5,955 cases, 146 deaths and 5,690 recoveries.
Whiteside County has had 9,467 total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 2,785 people (5.01%) fully vaccinated. Lee County has had 6,439 doses, with 1,920 people (5.61%) fully vaccinated. Carroll County has administered 2,115 vaccine doses, with 534 people (3.73%) fully vaccinated. Ogle County has had 9,075 doses, with 2,036 people (4.01%) fully vaccinated.
The North region (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties) and has seen 39 consecutive days under the 8% positivity rate. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 3.0%. Currently, 24% of ICU beds are available.
The region has 71 consecutive days above the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.
Lee County’s rate decreased to 0.7%, and Whiteside County’s rate decreased to 3.6%.
Hospitalizations have decreased eight out of the past 10 days in this region.
Illinois announced 1,665 cases and 27 deaths Tuesday totaling 1,177,320 cases, including 20,330 deaths.
