Ogle farmer will be presenter for conservation cropping seminar

An Ogle County farmer will be one of the presenters during an online webinar on conservation cropping that will be 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 3. Registration is at tinyurl.com/ycxp8mb2.

The featured address on carbon markets is by Emily Bruner, Midwest science director at American Farmland Trust. Her work focuses on ways to increase adoption of soil health practices while increasing resiliency and productivity of existing farms.

Other speakers are Savanna Institute’s Katie Adams on agricultural forestry, state conservationist Ivan Dozier, North Carolina farmer Russell Hedrick, Jerry Seidel of Jefferson County and Rick Kaesebier of Logan County.

The webinar is coordinated by American Farmland Trust, Illinois Department of Agriculture, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, Illinois Stewardship Alliance, Illinois Sustainable Ag Partnership, University of Illinois Extension, USDA NRCS, and the soil and water conservation districts in Champaign, Jefferson County, McLean and Ogle counties.
