LGBTQ+ seminars will be held at Morrison church

MORRISON — Chase Norris, executive director of Clock Inc., a Quad Cities community center and safe space for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning, will be providing two information sessions Jan. 11 at First Presbyterian Church, 100 E. Lincolnway.

A session for educators and agencies will be at 5 p.m. and an open session for the community will be at 7 p.m.

Billed as an LGBTQ 101 session, the programs are to offer insight to help the community be better informed on the issues affecting LGBTQ youth. These sessions have a special focus on transgender children.

A Q&A session will come after the presentation.

Norris is a 2014 graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, coming out as a female to male transgender. In 2015 he accepted a position at Western Illinois University in Moline as a counselor education graduate student.
