The Academy to provide an informational session

Graduates file into the gym Friday night for the 2021 commencement ceremony at Sauk Valley College. Last year's graduation was completely virtual.

DIXON – High school students looking to earn college credit for the 2022-23 academic year can apply to The Academy at Sauk Valley Community College.

The college is conducting an informational session on the program at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8. To attend in person, call 815-835-6266 or email Sarah.h.partington@svcc.edu. The session is also available virtually. Visit wvcc.edu/academy to sign up.

Applications, including supporting documentation, is due midnight Monday, Feb. 1 at svcc.edu/academy. A list of required documents is available at the same online address.

Interested students should be motivated, be able to work independently and demonstrate desire to pursue college-level coursework, the college said in a news release.
