Walnut Rotary Club receives grant for tree planting

WALNUT – Rotary District 6420 awarded a grant to the Walnut Rotary Club to plant 15 trees around the Walnut Park District. The grant matches funds raised by the club from its summer cookouts, Walnut Rotary Club President Tina Curtis said.

The grant also offsets the expense of plating 15 trees donated by Walnut resident Bill Schauff.

Rotary will plant trees by the Larry Wilcoxen Baseball Diamond to replace maples that didn’t survive planting and others at the W field.
