Mt. Morris Jamboree closes season Aug. 27 with Hall of Fame band

MT. MORRIS — Local rockabilly band Dirty Fishnet Stockings returns to the Mt. Morris Jamboree for a free two-hour concert 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 to close out the summer series.

DFS, which was inducted into the Rockford Area Music Industry’s Hall of Fame, includes lead singer Ted O’Donnell, lead guitarist Harry Euhus, upright bassist Rick Nolting and drummer Bill Englund.

Fortunate Sons, a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band, will perform 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28.

Concessions for the evening will be provided by Hectors Cocina and Rustic Oven Wood Fired Pizzas, starting at 6 p.m.

The National Strawsculpting Competition and the Radical Botanicals show at the Encore Art Gallery both continue.

The rain location is Pinecrest Grove Community Center, 500 Evergreen Lane, 7 blocks south of Rt. 64 off McKendrie St.
