Upcoming blood drives in the Sauk Valley; Red Cross need is urgent

As happens every summer, but is being made worse this year by the pandemic, the American Red Cross is in urgent need of donors.

As an incentive, those who give from July 7-31 will receive a $10 Amazon.com gift card by email and automatically will be entered for a chance to win gas for a year, up to $5,000. The nationwide contest will have three winners.

Amboy: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Amboy Community Building, 280 W. Wasson Road.

Tampico: 2-7 p.m. July 8, Tampico United Methodist Church, 202 Lincoln St.

Dixon: 1-6 p.m. July 12, Dixon Elks Lodge, 1279 Franklin Grove Road; 1-6 p.m. July 22, Dixon Hope Bible Fellowship, 732 Brinton Ave.; 12:30-5:30 p.m. July 27, Knights of Columbus Hall, 506 W. Third St.

Morrison: Noon-6 p.m. July 15, St. Mary Catholic Church, 13320 Garden Plain Road
