STERLING – The Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business Committee will have its 36th annual Steak Fry in the Country will be 5:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at Ted Jacobs Farm in Rock Falls.
This event allows the agribusiness community to gather and celebrate the industry Sauk Valley while raising money for agricultural-related scholarships. This year, 10 scholarships were awarded, totaling $11,250.
Tom Despasquale will provide musical entertainment. There will be a dessert auction. The chamber will recognize the 2021 scholarship recipients, including Molly Biggs, Michelle Cooney, Brett Burhow, Emily Brooks, Stephanie Gripp, Alyssa Miller, Jacob Kolb, Keegan Coulthard, Sierra Harris, Shelby Harris and Shelby Hardy.
Money raised from the steak fry goes toward scholarships funds and supports Ag in the Classroom and Whiteside County 4-H. This event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 and are available at the Sauk Valley Area Chamber office, 211 Locust St., from a member of the committee, or online at saukvalleyareachamber.com/events.
