Watercolors, water-themed works featured by Dixon art gallery

DIXON – The Next Picture Show, 113 W. First St., will have the following events in May:

Illinois Watercolor Society National Exhibition, through May 28

This show features more than 60 works of art by artists from the U.S., Canada and Malaysia.

At the Water’s Edge, at KSB Commerce Towers until June 30

This show at 215 E. First St. features work created around the subject of water. It is also the largest art exhibit ever presented at Commerce Towers, with works in acrylic, digital and film photography, oil, pastel, pen and watercolor. Masks and temperature checks are required. TNPS Cookout , 11 a.m.-2 p.m. May 22

Cookout at Oliver’s Corner Market, 748 N. Brinton Ave. TNPS board members and volunteers will be serving up the food and you will be helping support the arts and culture in our community.

Entries needed for the About Face Art Exhibition

The entry deadline is May 22 and the exhibit is June 5-July 17. This exhibit will focus on the subjects of portraits (sculpture, painting, photograph or any other representation of a person or animal, in which the face is the main theme). This is an all-media exhibition of both 2-D and 3-D original work created and signed by the artist. Forms are available at TNPS Art Center or online at TNPS.
