STERLING - The Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for an individual, business or group to receive the 2020 Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Champion Award.
The award will be given to the nominee that “goes above and beyond” to improve the quality of life for the people of the Sauk Valley, either through volunteer efforts or other outstanding contributions.
Past recipients include local businessman Tim McNinch, owner of Airplay Sports and Espresso, John Gvozdjak, president and CEO of Frantz Manufacturing, restaurateur Matt Prescott, the Rock River Hospice & Home Board of Directors, and Carol Siefken of Church Women United.
Nomination narratives should explain how the person, business or organization has positively affected the community and made the Sauk Valley area a better place to live and work, and examples of the nominee’s impact.

Nominations are due by Feb. 5.
The award will be presented at the 2021 Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce annual dinner, the date of which still is being determined.
