Sauk Valley Chamber offering virtual ethnic bakery tour – with real treats

STERLING - Sauk Valley Chamber of Commerce Community Education invites the public to a virtual tour of Milwaukee ethnic bakeries, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16.

Bakery Bus in a Box participants will enjoy pastries from authentic Italian, German, Danish, Mexican and French bakeries, and learn more through a virtual interactive 90-minute discussion about Milwaukee’s immigrant past in which they can meet the makers behind the treats.

Participants can expect samples such as a half-pound box of goodies from Peter Sciortino’s Bakery, a mini Three King’s Cake from La Flor de Trigo, a dozen of National Bakery’s famous German pecan fingers, and homemade, hand-dipped chocolates from Ultimate Confections.

The deadline to register is Feb. 8. This virtual tour cost $79 a box, which includes the samples, shipping, and a tour guide gratuity. Bakery Boxes will be mailed directly to participants to sample during the virtual discussion.
