STERLING – A call reporting a woman lost in the Rock River near Lawrence Park, which came to dispatchers shortly after 5 p.m. Monday, turned out to be a false alarm, Sheriff John Booker said.

The call was made by a person with mental health issues, and the person reportedly in the river was located safe and sound at her job, Booker said, but not until emergency responders arrived and began the search, which was called off around 7:30 p.m.
