Putnam County Library District reopens doors as region’s COVID tier status improves

The Hennepin branch of the Putnam County Public Library District is at 214 N. Fourth St., and the phone number is 815-925-7020.

Putnam County Public Library District reopened its doors this week for patrons to reenter the branches.

The decision was made to reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 20, due to recent order by Gov. JB Pritzker to change the region’s tier status during the pandemic.

Patrons are required to wear masks when they enter the branches. There are shields at each desk for safety purposes between staff and patrons.

Materials returned will continue to be placed on a three-day quarantine before other patrons are able to check them out. Patrons are asked to maintain the six-feet-apart rule between people. The rule does apply to upcoming programs as well. It is recommended that patrons continue to listen to programs online.
