OREGON — Construction on the 100 block of North 5th Street and the 5th Street parking lot in Oregon started on Oct. 11.
During this phase, the contractor “will make every effort” to ensure at least half the parking lot is available at a time, said a press release from the city of Oregon.
The odd/even parking mandate for the parking lot usually in effect on Friday mornings will not be enforced during construction, the press release states. Early morning and overnight parking is available in the parking lot on the north side of the courthouse.
Parking regulations on the highways will continue to be enforced, according to the press release.
“While we understand this will make for a slight inconvenience we are excited knowing once construction is complete everyone will have a much nicer looking street to drive on as well as a nicer parking lot to park in,” the press release reads.
