A magic cantaloupe and a rivalry between jesters was the plot of the Oregon High School’s Madrigal “Dinner”, held April 24-25 in the OHS gym.
Organizers had hoped to have the event on the high school lawn, but cooler temperatures pushed the event indoors.
Unlike the usual Madrigal Dinners, held in December, this year’s event did not include a “dinner” and instead encouraged audience members to bring their own food.
“Instead, this year, we invited everyone to bring their own food (kind of like a Ravinia type of deal),” Zach Hall, OHS choir director said.
Because the school is not not incurring any large costs for meals or renting spa
ce, this year’s admission was by a free-will donation.
Jed Bothe, a senior, and Hall created the production.
“This is the first time that a student has been involved in writing the script and Jed did a fantastic job throughout the entire process,” said Hall. “It has been a privilege to work with him on this project.”
