Blues legend Corky Siegel and Jazz icon Ernie Watts last performed together on March 13, 2020, right before the pandemic shut down live entertainment all across the globe. Siegel and Watts were near the end of a concert tour that began in Chicagoland and extended to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Florida, and they can’t wait to reunite and return to Raue Center to perform at Arts on the Green! This incredible performance will take place on August 7th from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, located at 210 McHenry Avenue in Crystal Lake.
During his 56 years of performing, Corky Siegel has become known internationally as one of the world’s great Blues harmonica players. He is a fantastic Blues pianist, a singer and composer, and co-founder of the popular Siegel-Schwall Band, and was inducted into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame, where he also received a Lifetime Achievement Award. According to the Washington Post, Corky Siegel is a phenomenon on the harmonica.
Ernie Watts is a two-time Grammy Award-winning saxophonist with a diverse history. He has recorded on over 500 classic songs, working with Marvin Gaye; Earth, Wind & Fire; Carole King; and Steely Dan, and has traveled with The Rolling Stones. He has also performed Jazz tunes with Pat Metheny, Charlie Haden, and Thelonious Monk, and spent 20 years playing with The Tonight Show Band. All About Jazz calls Watts one of the greatest living tenor saxophonists.
